Zombie Walk!

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Join us for some infectious fun at Community Options Society’s 2nd Annual Zombie Walk and United Way Fundraiser.

The Zombie’s are coming!  Protect yourself, your brains and your town by donating to the United Way…. guaranteed to keep the Zombies away!

Do you want to join us?  Meet us at 3:00 pm at the COS office to zombify yourself or come already costumed!  We will be leaving COS at 5pm to begin the walk to take over Downtown Duncan. We will be returning to our graves around 6pm.

To protect yourself from a zombie attack, look for donation jars in Downtown Duncan.  All donations will be going to the Cowichan United Way for community service funding.

Call 250-748-0232 for more information on participating or helping.  The COS ‘zombie’ office is located at 200 Cowichan Way.

Somehow it seems fitting that the very first entry in our new blog is about our annual meeting being held in June.

(See below for more details on where and when it takes place.)

The meeting is to talk about what has happened here at COS over the past year (like the overhaul on our website and the ability to blog!) our finances, our contracts, our partnerships and lots more.  And as we are all about believing in youth and their families, anyone interested in building upon that, please come and join us!

OUR  38th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Cowichan Community Options New Blog

We are pretty excited not only about our new website, but about the opportunity to blog.
Young Mother
There is so much to talk about with each other, about relationships, about families, about children. We don’t communicate enough, and more often than not, we don’t communicate well.

Our purpose is to help families reconnect. To help parents understand their children, to help young parents cope with the huge responsibility of caring for a child, to help teens learn self esteem and anger management.

We hope this is the beginning of a conversation between us all. Feel free to comment on each blog and let the communication begin!
